Get Real 1 Thess 1:5-10

I want to be better at witnessing. There are people around me that need to believe in Christ. I should be good at "telling" others. But, is telling enough?
We want real power in our witness, and real power comes from being real. The gospel is powerful, but in 1Thess 1:5, Paul's message was further empowered by his person, who he was among them for their sakes.
What do they need to see in us, in order that they might hear us? What are some ways that Christians need to get real?

Witnessing....hmmmmmmm.
Yesterday, Fred Meyer, very irate and vocal lady berating the sales clerk. Unkind, impatient, disgusted - making a scene. As I tried not to look, I noticed her necklace - and the gold cross that hung from it. And I thought, THIS is her witness - to the clerk, to me, to everyone within hearing. I wanted to say something to her, but lacked the courage.
But I was convicted - how often has my behavior spoken so much louder than the cross on my necklace or the fish on my bumper?
