One of my favorite images of a local church is family. Now, it doesn't always work well for us, because family is too often not what it is supposed to be..but church family, by God's grace, can be all that God intends it to be.
In 1 Thessalonians 1:1, is Paul's standard greeting, grace to you and peace...
How do you think grace, when lived out in the church family, brings and builds peace? Peace with God, Peace with yourself? Peace with others?
How have you found peace through grace?
Would you like to?

Acts 9:1 – “murderous threats” / Acts 13:9 – “filled with the Holy Spirit” / I Thess. 1:1 – “grace and peace”
Paul’s life journey helps believers to see the only way to move from hatred to grace and then to peace. It is only God’s grace through His Holy Spirit that can bring us to a point of peace individually and corporately. Oh, if only it could be done once and for all. But God is working in and through an imperfect people, and as believers we must seek His grace on a daily basis. Only then can we come together corporately with grace for one another and live together in peace.
It helps to have a sense of humor toward myself and others. I lost mine somewhere along the way, and God in His mercy is bringing it back into my life.
Wow, that's it. From hatred driven by insecurity to grace and peace. Grace allows us to take ourselves a little less seriously, and embrace one another more seriously.
